SUMMARY
Scholarship season generally begins in the spring of your senior year. Seniors should routinely check the office scholarship board for scholarships. Post-secondary institutions will also have scholarships available for admitted students, so be sure to check with your selected school to see when scholarship deadlines are and if you are eligible for any scholarships within the degree program you are applying for.
The Scholarship Portfolios you created in your Junior year must be turned in by the assigned deadline April 3rd, in order to be considered for certain local scholarships, which are decided by the scholarship committee.
FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is government aid that needs to be applied for by the FAFSA deadline. Many states and colleges set priority deadlines by which you must submit the FAFSA form to be considered for the aid programs they administer. There is also a federal deadline each academic year.
