Check here for a list of just some of the scholarships you might apply for. We will update this list regularly. Information on individual scholarships is subject to change. You can download the applications and email the completed Cornell Scholarship applications to Mrs. Hakes at [email protected]. Follow the directions to submit all other scholarships.

Local scholarships

  • Gerald Naiberg Honor Scholarship was created in 2021 to honor Mr. Naiberg's years of dedicated service to the Edward & Hannah M. Rutledge Charities. A graduating senior from a Chippewa County High School will be awarded a $2,500 non-renewable Scholarship this scholarship is to do Mrs. Hakes no later than February 15th 2025.

  •  Optimist International Chippewa Falls Club has an essay contest and scholarship opportunity.  This is open to any youth under the age of 19. Essays are due by Friday January 19, 2024
  • ​​The River Country Co-op has a scholarship available to students with parents who are members of River Country Co-op.  Any area of study is accepted but Agronomy related is preferred.  Scholarship is due  March 3rd.​​​​

  • Cindy Asplund Memorial Scholarship is a $2000.00 scholarship for students going into the Medical science field at a 4 year baccalaureate program. Applications are due by March 31st. cindyasplundscholarship.com/
  • The Edith B. Arnold Scholarship is available to Cornell Graduates.  The application is due before April 1st to the Cornell Superintendent Dr. Schley. Fill out the application on the right. ​​​

  • Chippewa Valley Electric Cooperative Scholarship is a scholarship for a student who will graduate in 2024 and is enrolled in a post-secondary program at college/university or vocational school. The parents/legal guardians are members of the Chippewa Valley Electric Cooperative and are currently receiving services. The student must display average or above average academic records. Applications are due by April 1st 2024.

  • The Robert H. Currie Scholarship is for Cornell Seniors only.  This scholarship is for any Cornell Graduate attending a Technical College. The application is due on April 5th to the office. Fill out the Application on the right.

  • The Eino Martino Family Scholarship will be awarded to one Cornell High School Senior that participated in one or more full seasons of track at the High School level. Coach Eino taught at Cornell for 32 years.  Coach Eino is a Coaches Association Hall of Fame member and served as the Middle and High School Track Coach for 60 years. The application is due by 4:00 p.m. on April 15th.

  • The Dr. John and Marge Parker Honorary Scholarship is offered to high achieving students going into a health care field.  The scholarship is due April 11th.

  • If you are interested in applying for the Frank and Susan Huettner Scholarship, your first step is to send a personal request to the Foundation Office at PO Box 57, Cadott, WI, 54727. They will then send you application materials. Deadline for application request is April 19 2025.  Deadline for return of completed applications is May 1 , 2025.

  • The American Legion Scholarship is for students who are going into the military or are a family member of a Veteran and are planning to attend a 4 year college/university, 2 year college, or a technical/vocational school after graduation.  The scholarship is due April 30th.​

  • The Memorial Scholarship of Bruce Conley is due May 1st.  We are the David & Carol Hakes family. In 2018 our family lost a life-
    long friend, Bruce A Conley. To honor this great friend and keep the ripple effect of all that he was doing, we have set up an annual $1000

  • Rutledge Charities and Casper Foundation Scholarship offers opportunities for tuition scholarships to graduates of Chippewa county who decide to pursue higher education at a college, technical school, or university of their choice.   • The foundation of the Wisconsin Automobile & Truck dealers Association scholarship. Minimum award is $750 per semester. This scholarship is for students pursuing a degree in Automotive, Collision Repair, Diesel and Motorcycle. The due date is  January 15th 2025. Click on the file for more information. 
  • In recognition of the tremendous efforts put forth by Wisconsin’s rural schools to provide their students with quality education in an ever-changing environment, it is with pleasure that the Wisconsin Rural Schools Alliance (WiRSA) offers an annual scholarship program.
    The scholarship will be awarded annually to one graduating high school senior from each of the four membership regions of Wisconsin as specified in the organization’s bylaws.   • Heartland Business Systems is excited to share our Scholarship Opportunity for Highschool Seniors! This scholarship is being offered to Highschool seniors planning to continue their education in the IT field.
  • Wisconsin Education Association Council Scholarship is again offering a scholarship to eligible high school seniors who are planning to enter the field of education. Winners of the scholarship will receive a grant of $1,450.00 per year for four years of study, provided they remain eligible. 
    High school seniors who are planning to go into the field of education and whose parent(s) are a WEAC member, a WEAC retired member or who died while holding a WEAC membership are eligible to apply. weac.org/membership/awards-scholarships/
  •  WTS Scholarship The WTS Wisconsin Chapter invites women who are pursuing careers in the transportation industry to apply for chapter scholarships. These scholarships offer opportunities for graduate students, undergraduate students, junior college/trade school students, and high school students. The winner of each scholarship will also receive a one-year WTS student membership, and will be nominated to the WTS Foundation for a chance to earn the WTS National Scholarship!   • Westconsin Credit Union Scholarship Westconsin Credit union is offering $1000.00 scholarship to graduation high school seniors. Application must be submitted on line and students need to have been a primary account holder with Westconsin Credit union as of August 31, 2022.   • AB Nicolas Scholarship Foundation The AB Nicolas Scholarship Foundation offers scholarships based on need, academic achievement and character for high school senior basketball players and managers, both boys and girls, who plan to attend the University of Wisconsin school system. Restriction: Student athletes who choose to participate in Division 1 athletics at the college level will not be eligible due to NCAA regulations.   • ​Wisconsin Professional Police Each year the Wisconsin Professional Police Association (WPPA) awards scholarships to Wisconsin students enrolling in a course of study leading to a degree in police science or criminal justice. All scholarships are awarded without regard to sex, race, cultural background, or religious preference. Financial need is not a criterion for selection in this scholarship program.   • Wisconsin Title 1 Association Scholarship. Available to graduating seniors who were ever in Title 1. For more information and an application, go to: sites.google.com/site/wisconsintitle1associationwt1a/awards/scholarship ​
  • If one of your parents is a full time police officer or fire fighter, you would qualify for the Wisconsin Security Association Scholarship. Details here: wiesa.org/about/youth-scholarship-information/ ​
  • Compeer Financial  Fund for Rural America, is offering 41 scholarships to Wisconsin students this year.   • The Volunteer Partners of HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital are accepting applications for their 2023 scholarships. If you are pursuing a health care degree from an accredited college or a Child of an employee at St. Joe's, Sacred Heart, HSHS, or Prevea Clinics in the Chippewa Valley. You are encouraged to apply for this $1000 scholarship.   • The Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundations offers this very generous scholarship. For more information and to apply, go to www.wrof.org/scholarships/wrof-premier-scholarship-application ​
  • Visionary Scholarship Program. Multiple Winners ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Non-renewable, to be used to offset first year of college costs. americancollegefoundation.org ​
  • The Wisconsin Towns Association, Rural Mutual Insurance and Scott Construction are offering $1000 scholarships to the winners of an essay contest. Check your school email for more information. ​
  • The Abbot and Fenner Scholarship is for students with a desire and ambition to succeed. abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.php  ​
  • CVTC Scholarships. Students can apply in a matter of minutes via the online application. Student scholarships range in amount from $200 to as much as $5,000. Some of these awards are program specific, but others are open to all CVTC students. Check out available scholarships here: Our Opportunities.   • Hagan Scholarship Foundation is a nationwide four year need-based merit scholarship providing each recipient with the opportunity to graduate college debt- free, providing up to $6000.00 each semester. To apply: www.hsfmo.org
  • AES Engineering Scholarship Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by an evaluation of the essays that are submitted.
    Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility.

  • The following scholarships are available to Cornell seniors: There are no applications for these scholarships as students are chosen on their involvement in certain activities etc: Spirit Club Scholarship, Tom's Sales and Service Scholarship, FFA Scholarship, and Greenhouse Scholarship.
